It all started with a cup of coffee and a conversation...

I wanted to share a little more about why I felt called to start the Ottomatic Joy Foundation. For as long as I can remember, dogs have been a source of comfort, grounding, and joy in my life. They have a way of showing up exactly when you need them, no words, no explanations, just presence and unconditional love. They just understand.

​

I knew I was supposed to do something with my story, but I didn't know what. It kept tugging at me. And eventually one conversation while enjoying my morning coffee gave me clarity that this was something I needed to build.

​

The foundation was already in motion long before Otto arrived. But when he was born on July 25th, something shifted. He didn’t create the mission, he stepped into it. Even though he’s still so tiny, he represents the heart of what we hope to bring to our Florida Gulf Coast community and beyond: comfort, connection, and joy, offered freely and without conditions.

 

One day, Otto will be a certified therapy-dog visiting people who need a moment of joy or a reminder that they’re not alone. If you’d like to read more about that conversation over a cup of coffee, click here.
